Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

Do you want to learn how to cope with stress and meet life’s challenges with greater ease?

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a structured program that combines mindfulness meditation and yoga to cultivate awareness and reduce stress. Participants engage in guided meditation, gentle yoga, and discussions to develop mindfulness skills. MBSR aims to help individuals become more present in their daily lives, managing stressors with greater clarity and resilience. By fostering non-judgmental awareness of thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations, MBSR empowers individuals to respond to challenges with greater calmness and effectiveness. Research suggests that MBSR can lead to numerous benefits, including reduced stress, anxiety, and depression, improved emotional regulation, enhanced focus and concentration, and greater overall well-being.

How this program works

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a nine-week program to build resiliency and positively impact your everyday life. This program will give you tools to help cope with stress and meet life’s challenges.

It is held at Country Roads Community Health Centre throughout the year, with most sessions being held on weekday afternoons/evenings, with one full day retreat. Information sessions are also held periodically to help determine if this course is the right fit for you.

This kind of course is best suited to individuals who are motivated and open to learn how to better manage stress in their lives. The benefits people gain from this practice are the direct result of the effort they put into the practice.

Those coping with all aspects of stress related to persistent illness, work, family, chronic pain, problems with sleep, digestive problems, headaches, anxiety, panic, depression or grief are welcome.
