Foot Care

Foot health is important. The qualified Foot Care Nurses at CPHC can provide an assessment of the feet, trimming, and filing nails, ingrown toenail care, corn care and callous reduction, thickened toenail reduction and skin care.

How this service works

The foot care nurses offer foot care through two programs:

Thousand Island/Rideau Tay High Risk Chiropody Initiative

This initiative is specially designed to provide Chiropody care to individuals who have chronic illness (diabetes, vascular disease) and advanced foot problems and those who are most at risk for foot issues. Eligible clients are those who do not have any health insurance coverage or who have exhausted their insurance coverage for Chiropody services. You can ask to be seen at a location that is closer for you.

Specialized Chiropody services

These are provided to registered clients of Country Roads every Monday. Eligible clients are those whom do not have any health insurance coverage. Referrals to our Chiropodist can be made for clients who are have calluses, corns, fragile skin with pressure lesions, thick nails, cracked or reddened skin with localized foot pain or for those requiring orthotics.
