Press Release: Drop-in Community Navigator Assistance Available in Elgin
Friday May 17th, 2024 - Country Roads Community Health Centre and the Rideau Lakes Public Library are hosting a Community Navigator Drop-in available on Thursdays in June, July, and August from 9am - 1pm at the Elgin Branch of Rideau Lakes Public Library.
Navigators can offer resources, referrals, and support on a wide array of issues from applying for help with utility bills, to replacing lost identification, to helping fill out paperwork, to discussing options in a difficult situation.
A community navigator serves as a guide and advocate for individuals or groups within a community, helping them navigate social services, healthcare systems, educational opportunities, and other resources. They offer support, information, and assistance to address various needs and challenges. Community navigators may help with tasks like accessing healthcare, finding housing, securing employment, or connecting with social support networks. They play a crucial role in bridging gaps between community members and the services available to them, ultimately aiming to improve overall well-being and quality of life within the community. This free service is available to all community members.
